La Reserva’s Beach Club.

Sotogrande, Cádiz

This garden was the perfect challenge of juxtaposing the atmosphere of a tropical Beach Club in an area not far from the sea yet surrounded by an entirely mediterranean landscape. As such the plant selection had to satisfy the need to evoke the feeling of arriving at an oasis as well as to integrate within the surrounding context.

For these reasons, the exterior perimeter was planted with mediterranean species such as Quercus ilex, Quercus suber, Tamarix gallica and Pistacia lentiscus that created a soft screen between the landscape and the beach club.

The actual transition between mediterranean and tropical oasis happened along the entrance path to the Beach Club.

The path starts at the top of a set of stairs that allows the eye to take in the view from a high point, a characteristic that we took advantage of with the incorporation of Andalusian olive trees in full production.

Beyond the stairs, we planted a transitional strip of colourful tropical species like Plumeria rubra, Strelitzia augusta, Agaves, Echinaceas purpureas and Gauras lindemieriis.

These plants invite you to walk into the heart of the project, where a reflective pool and an impressive composition of Phoenix dactylifera (Date Palm) give the viewer the desired oasis effect.
